Siobhan Curham: This too is for the best

Hey there, my wise friends and welcome to the podcast with my beautiful guest Siobhan Curham, who is not only an author of 39 books, but is also an amazing writing coach. This is probably one of my favourite conversations so far in the series, because what we're talking about is the creative process and how it feels to break through the resistance and fear that comes up when we first start something new. Siobhan is a great storyteller, but as you'll hear, that only comes from consistently showing up and putting in the practice, even when you don't feel like it or your first attempts don't quite work out the way you'd hoped.

She also shares a beautiful song that is all about life being made up of single precious moments, which is just so true. Yesterday, my husband came in in even though I was on a call, he asked if I could leave for two minutes. And we headed upstairs and out the window was the most beautiful evening sky all lit up with flaming pinks, and oranges. He's been away for most of the year. And in that moment, we stood with my daughter, just taking it all in. And I think that's what people mean when they say 'live in the moment.'

It's all about appreciating the really simple things. And when you slow down enough, you realise that there are just so many of these moments every single day. Siobhan is someone who's become really good at capturing them just by writing them down. I hope you enjoy hearing short stories just as much as I did.
